Public Academic vs International and Private Hospitals
Public academic hospitals are often stronger for a highly specialized disease program. Private/international hospitals may be stronger for English-language service, insurance coordination and emergency logistics. Direct billing exists at some private/international hospitals and some public international departments, but only for participating plans. Never assume an insurance card means cashless care.

Is treatment in China cheaper?
Not as a rule. Some public-hospital pathways can be less expensive than private Western care; imported drugs, CAR-T products, private international wards and long stays can be expensive. Compare a written hospital estimate, not a blog average.
How do I choose a hospital?

Do Chinese hospitals accept foreigners?
Many do, through an International Medical Department, international hospital or overseas office. Acceptance of a particular case still depends on the diagnosis, documents, appointment capacity and payment rules.
Can I get a second opinion before flying?

Will you guarantee a visa, admission or outcome?
